Even though dinosaurs no longer roam the Earth, there are some animal species still around from that prehistoric time. You probably already know that sharks, crocodiles, and horseshoe crabs have all been around since the time of the dinosaurs – but something was recently discovered that’s on a whole different level of freaky.
The rarely seen frilled shark doesn’t really look like a shark at all. Their fossils have been dated at over 80 million years old, which would make them older than the dinosaurs. This ‘living fossil’ appears to have changed very little in that time, and is truly a remnant of a long lost age.
